Cooking Recipes for Tasty Comfort Soup

For super easy, heart warming soups that will make you feel like a million bucks on a really cold day, or even on a really hot day try these lip smacking delights with stomach filling appeal.

These two delightful soups come straight from my kitchen. And I don’t even cook. My husband does all the cooking. I just call it my kitchen because I’m the one that cleans up the mess.

Crock pot chicken noodle soup

My husband creates chicken noodle soup that is comfort food at it’s best and here is his secret( not anymore) recipe. And it is super easy because the crock pot does most of the work.

This is the key to this recipe; cook medium wide egg noodles in a regular pot and keep
seperate from the other indregdients. Trial and error taught my personal chef that cooking the noodles in the crock pot with other ingredients will cause the noodles to literally suck up the broth and water, and then it doesn’t taste good.

Wash off a pound and a half of chicken breasts.
Cut them up into small pieces.
Cut up half a pound of carrots.
Cut up two medium stalks of celery.
Wash in cold water, and then slice up a medium onion.
Add a quart of chicken broth to crock pot.
Add two cups of water.
Add to taste parsley
Add four cups of spinach
Add salt to taste
Add fresh cracked pepper to taste also.

Stir all the ingredients together.
Cook for 6 to 8 hours on high.
Stir crock pot mixture to keep ingredients together.
Add some water as needed.

Place noodles in bowl first and then serve the rest of great tasting soup on top.

The next super easy soup is Cream of Mushroom Soup

This soup is also a household favorite of ours and can be a main meal or an appetizer.
Cream of Mushroom soup takes about 15 minutes to prepare, and fifteen minutes to cook. Sometimes we add cooking sherry to this recipe, sometimes we don’t. How much easier can it get?

For this recipe you will need:
1 pound mushrooms
1/4 cup margarine or butter
3 tablespoons of flour
1/2 tablespoon salt
1 cup of whipping cream
1 can of chicken broth
1 tablespoon dry cooking sherry
Freshly cracked(ground) pepper

Slice the mushrooms into small pieces.
Melt the margarine in saucepan over medium heat.
Cook all mushrooms in margarine for about 10 minutes, while stirring until they turn brown.
Add flour and salt in the pan.
Cook stirring continually until mixture becomes thick.
Gradually stir in whipping cream and broth, until it becomes hot.
Add cooking sherry while stirring.
Add pepper to taste.
