Cocktails best Cocktails for Cold Nights

When the cold nights appear and one wishes for a cocktail to sooth the soul and keep them warm, a hot tasty cocktail or two might be just what the doctor ordered. There are a host of different ways to prepare a hot cocktail, just as there are a great number of alcoholic beverages to choose from. This is not the time for icy cold adult beverages, one needs something to warm the insides. Contrary to popular belief bourbon is not the only legitimate choice for a warm cocktail (otherwise known as a toddy). A host of people prefer scotch, rum, gin or other types of liquor.

It simply comes down to your own personal preference. A hot cocktail is often made from a chosen liquor, boiling water, lemon juice and sugar. Back in days gone by, a hot whiskey cocktail was extremely popular. One simply mixed 2 cups boiled water, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 shots of whiskey and mixed this all together. But with the various types of liquor available these days, the old ‘whiskey cocktail’ is not as popular as it once was. The recipes below are more modern versions of hot cocktails which will warm you to your very toes.
