This pie is everything our taste buds love about apples and pears. This Apple- Pear pie is a stand out from the other pies. Served hot, it is one of the best wintry deserts. With its inside brimming with pears and apples and a golden layer of pastry, it really says the ‘fall’.
Best served on Christmas. A beautiful blend of fruits of fall, what more could you ask for!
1) 3 medium sized pears, pealed and sliced
2) 3 medium sized apple, pealed and sliced
3) Pastry for double crust pie ( 8 inch)
4) 1 teaspoon lemon juice
5) 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
6) 1 cup granulated sugar
7) 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg ( ground)
8) 1 teaspoon whole milk
9) 3 tablespoons butter
1- Line the pie plate with the pastry. Trim its edges. Now in a large bowl, combine together the sliced fruits, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice. Put this mixture to the crust, then dot it in butter.
2- Fit the top of the pie with the remaining pastry. Place it over the filling and trim and fluke the edges. Make decorative cuts on the pastry if desired. Brush it with milk; sprinkle it with the remaining sugar. Cover its edges with foil.
3- Bake for 30 minutes, with temperature to 350 decrees. Then remove foil and bake it for another 30 minutes, till the pastry is golden brown. Cool it and its ready to be served!

This lovely combination of fruits makes this pie unique for Thanksgiving and Christmas and other social gatherings.
